Pav bhaji is famous Indian street food which is originated in Mumbai. pav bhaji recipe is a mixed vegetable with buttery pav. This dish is so delicious and tasty, no one will stop to eat with one pav. This is one of our favourite recipes. My kids love to have this yummy pav bhaji.
You can serve this recipe for breakfast or dinner. It's a full healthy pack because here I have added many vegetables and butter too. You can add any kind of vegetable including a paneer.
Adding butter is optional, you can make this dish with less oil or butter.
making of this pav bhaji is very simple. Actually, this recipe is made in Tawa but here I made it in a pressure cooker to make cooking very simple.
Need only 15 to 20mins to prepare this dish. As we all know very well that cooking in a pressure cooker is as easy as cooking in Kadai or tawa.

Ingredients
- Pav - 2
- Oil - 4tbsp
- Butter - 1tbsp
- Cumin seed - 1tbsp
- Onion - 1
- tomato - 2
- Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
- Coriander powder - 1tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4tsp
- Chilli powder - 1tbsp
- Pav bhaji masala powder - 2tbsp
- Carrot - 1/2cup
- Capsicum - 1/2cup
- Green peas - 1/2cup
- Beetroot - 3 pieces
- Capsicum -1/2cup
- potato - 2
- water 2cups
- Coriander leaves few
- Butter as required
- Salt as required
Method
- Heat oil and butter in a pressure cooker.
- Then add cumin seed and saute for a while.
- Now add chopped onion.
- Mix well and saute until they turn transparent.
- Keep the stove on a medium flame.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
- Now add all spice powder and saute for a while.
- Add chopped tomatoes and mix well.
- Then add all vegetables and mix well.
- cook for few mins.
- Add water and mix well.
- Next, add salt and mix it.
- Close the lid and pressure cook until 6 whistles come.
- Turn off the flame and wait till pressure releases naturally.
- Now open the lip and mash it with a potato masher.
- Mash it until desire consistency.
- The masala should not be very thick or very watery.
- Now add coriander leaves and butter.
- Once done close it and keep it aside.
Roasting Pav for pav bhaji- Cut the pav into two pieces in the centre.
- Now heat the tawa and add butter
- Now sprinkle pav bhaji masala powder.
- Then place the pav on the tava and roast it on both sides.
- Now roasted pav ready.
