 Roadside kalan Recipe/Street Food Kalan Masala Recipe/  Easy and Quick Masala 



Today Iam going to show you how to make the Famous Tamilnadu Roadside Kalan recipe at home. Now in lockdown time we can't go outside and eat this type of dish. So today i planned to show you how to make street food famous Kaalan masala recipe at home without adding Mushroom. Yes, here i have added only cabbage. Taste is yummy and delicious. If don't have mushroom then we can add only cabbage and make this delicious recipe. In this lockdown time, we can manage some ingredients and make an innovative recipe.

Ingredients

 

  • Cabbage -250gm
  • Carrot for Garnish
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1tbsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1tbsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1tspn
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4tsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1tsp
  • Maida Flour - 1/2cup
  • Corn Flour - 1/4cup
  • Water little
  • Salt

For Masala

  • Oil - 2tbsp   
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato Sauce - 3tbsp
  • Chilii Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1tsp
  • Salt

 













































METHOD


1. In a Mixing Bowl or plate add chopped cabbage, Coriander powder, Garam masala, Chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, salt, ginger-garlic paste.


2. Mix well without adding water 

3. After mixing well add corn flour and maida and combine well. 

4. After mixing corn flour and maida add little water and make like a chapathi dough.


5. Now heat oil in a tawa and deep fry the cabbage mixture like a pakoda 

6. Fry the pakoda untill Golden brown

7. Place the fried pakodas in a kitchen tissue paper



8. Allow to cool and tear the  pakoda into small peices if it is big in size. 

9.Keep  it aside

10. Now Heat oil in a pan and add onion.

11. Let onion turns into light pink colour 

12. Now add tomato sauce with little water and mix well

13. cook for few mins

14. Now add kashmiri chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder ,coriander powder and salt


15. cook until raw smells goes.

16. Add corn flour water (corn flour -2tbsp + water1/2cup)

17. After adding cornflour make sure that stove is in medium flame

18. If Gravy is very thick then add water little and mix well

19. Now add fried pakoda and combine well


20. You can add a little more water to adjust the consistency

21. Smash the pakoda well so that we will get the original texture and taste.


22. finally before serving garnish with grated carrot and chopped onion on top



23. Serve Hot


NOTE 
  1. : You can add mushroom alone  for this dish
  2.    If you want to skip tomato sauce then you add boiled and ground tomato puree also
  3.    If you add tomato puree then you have cook for 3 to 4 mins until the raw smells goes.
  4.    If you dont have carrot for granishing you can add grated cabbage also.
  5.    Finally you can add 1/2tsp lemon juice for extra taste and flavour.
